​​On April 8, 2022, the American University of Beirut signed an agree​ment with the Municipality of Pafos​, Cyprus to establish the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo, AUB's first campus outside Lebanon. This is a milestone event in the history of the American University of Beirut, which was established in 1866.​
